Finally, I have some daffodils emerging. This one seems to have survived the chipmunks and squirrels that run amuck. It looks so pretty with it’s yellow and white petals against the dark mulch I spread around. I thought of all this plant and now flower had survived, the fall, a pretty harsh winter, and a spring that seemed so long in coming.
The flower reminded me of how people survive. One of my closests friends has survived a serious illness, another lost her spouse. They have survived the blows that life has offered. It’s not easy. And life will continue to offer its’ moments, both joyous and moments of sorrow. And I will be there for them, just like this flower that has survived, too.
