This past weekend, it was the holidays of Passover and Easter. Both holidays are important in that they herald the beginning of spring and renewal. Sometimes the holiday is a little sad. I think of my parents who always made the holiday so special. We were always decked out in our finest, my sister and I in our little white gloves, bonnets, and new patent leather shoes. In order to look our prettiest, my parents sometimes had to do without so that we could look our best. We always did. Now I can appreciate the sacrifice they made.
For the past several years, I’ve had some wonderful seders(ritual meals) with family and friends. It was especially sweet this year with the addition of my little grandson. We laughed, and sang and enjoyed. The echoes of the past bring joy and hope for the coming spring and to celebrate our hope for freedom. For everyone.
